Visiting Union Square gives you the chance to see friends, do shopping and errands, have a great meal, save money and support our local business! This month, in addition to the special offers, participating businesses will have fun events to bring out the kid in us again.

Saturday, August 19, 2017, 6-10pm – Ignite! Global Street Food and Fire Festival

We will be open business as usual inside, plus, we will have our tent in front of the restaurant offering a variety of street food goodies!

Come to the Union Square Plaza and enjoy international street food, dance, interactive activities—and fire!

It’s time to fire things up with the fifth annual Ignite festival! To celebrate Union Square’s sizzling food landscape there will be an evening featuring international eats, fire throwers, roving entertainment, and a raucous celebration of global culture, including a bhangra dance party at the end to cap things off! A few of the food vendors include: Casa B, India Palace, Cantina La Mexicana, Union, Juice Union, Mineirao, Himalayan Kitchen, and the Arts Council’s Nibble Culinary Entrepreneurs.

There will also be food demos, interactive activities and the Boston Circus Guild will dance with fire! Also on deck: craft vendors, roving performers, bachata dancers, magicians, the Fine Arts Superheroes, fortune telling, a mime, and more! And don’t forget to bring a contribution to the festival’s first canned food drive, benefiting the Somerville Homeless Coalition! It’s easy– just bring a can or two of food to the festival.
